Erudite, District 6, Swimmer, Fangirl

I don’t ever walk around feeling famous. I walk around feeling the exact same way I have walked around my entire life, but it’s not until I talk to somebody and see in their eyes that I’m different. It makes me feel weird.
Since the dark days, our great nation has known only peace. Ours is an elegant system, conceived to nourish and protect. Your districts are the body, and the Capitol is the beating heart. Your hard work feeds us, and in return, we feed and protect you. But if you resist the system, if you starve yourself, if you fight against it, it’s you who will bleed. I know you’ll stand with me, with us, with all of us, together as one. Panem today. Panem tomorrow. Panem forever.

So James Dashner (author of The Maze Runner trilogy) just sent me a message in goodreads. (Which, btw, my account is mckenna_toggs if any of you want to friend me) :)
My spirit. This is a new thought. I’m not sure exactly what it means, but it suggests I’m a fighter. In a sort of brave way. It’s not as if I’m never friendly. Okay, maybe I don’t go around loving everybody I meet, maybe my smiles are hard to come by, but i do care for some people.
